They’re the Bridesmaids, Not the Bride’s Maids

The word may be in the title, but don’t treat them like your maids!

Between planning the bachelorette party and helping pick out dresses, there ought to be stressful situations between you and your bridesmaids. Of course, you love them and they love you, or they wouldn’t be a part of your big day! Get inspired by ways to make your girls feel more like a VIP guest and less like your maid when it comes to wedding related tasks.

Bridesmaid Proposal

First impressions are important, so start off the wedding planning by asking your favorite people to be your bridesmaids in a thoughtful and memorable way. This is your chance to get everyone excited and motivated for all of the event planning to come!

Tip: Customize your invites. For example, create unique bridesmaid wine labels.

Don’t Forget: They Need You, Too

While the wedding is your main focus at this time, keep people’s busy schedules and priorities in consideration. Stay up-to-date with what’s going on in their lives, and make an effort to support them as they are with you!

Communication is Key

Don’t assume everyone knows what you want, and be able to communicate when disagreements arise. For example, ask your bridesmaids for their opinion and preferences for the dresses. You want to make everyone feel comfortable, confident, and happy for your big day. It’s important to keep an open mind and be able to compromise. Plus, it’s good practice for when you tie the knot!

Show Your Appreciation

It’s important to notice the time and hard work put into accomplishing the bridesmaid duties. Aside from buying small gifts to show your gratefulness, spend quality time with the group throughout the wedding planning. For example, plan a spa day, wine night, or treat your girls out for a meal. If you’re on a tight budget, invite your friends over for a movie night or plan a fun hike. Last but not least, don’t forget to give thanks at the end of the journey with a heartfelt letter or a DIY gift box!
